How We Review Crypto Casinos
Every score on BTC Casino News is built the same way, from the same fixed, published criteria. This page explains exactly how — so you can audit any rating we give.
Research-based by default, tested when we can prove it
Our current casino reviews are research-based overviews. That means each score is derived from verifiable public facts — licensing and regulator, ownership, accepted cryptocurrencies, game range and providers, the operator’s stated payout policy, KYC rules and published bonus terms — checked against multiple sources and dated on the page.
When a review carries a “Real-money tested” badge, it means a reviewer actually deposited cryptocurrency, played, and requested a withdrawal, and we logged the real payout time. If a review does not carry that badge, it is clearly labelled “research-based overview, not yet real-money tested.” We never fabricate a test, a payout time, a screenshot or a rating. A badge you can’t trust is worse than no badge at all.
The Verdict scorecard — fixed weights, published
Our overall score (out of 10) is a weighted average of six criteria. The weights are identical for every casino and never change to suit a partner:
- Trust & Licensing — 25%. Regulator, ownership transparency, track record, dispute history, security.
- Payout Speed — 20%. Stated withdrawal policy, KYC triggers, and (where tested) the real cashout time we recorded.
- Bonus Value — 15%. Headline offer weighed against wagering requirements, max-cashout caps and game contribution — not the marketing number.
- Game Range — 15%. Number and quality of games, studios, live casino and provably-fair originals.
- Crypto Support — 15%. Coins and networks accepted, on-chain deposit/withdrawal experience, stablecoin options.
- Support & UX — 10%. Help channels, responsiveness, and how usable the site is.
Ratings are not for sale
We may earn a commission when a reader signs up through our links, and that keeps the site free. It does not buy a score, a ranking or a place on a “best” list. The scorecard weights above are fixed and public; a casino cannot pay to move them. When an operator fails a check — for example, a licensing surrender or an unresolved player-payment dispute — we say so plainly, even if we have an affiliate relationship with them.
Honest use of AI
We use AI tools to help research and draft, and every published page is edited and fact-checked by a human before it goes live. We do not publish unedited machine-spun content, and we do not invent reviewer personas or fake histories. Where a byline reads “BTC Casino News Editorial,” that is our honest editorial attribution.
Responsible gambling comes first
Gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money. The house edge means that, over time, the expected result of gambling is a loss.
